Lagloom

Concerned citizens take on a seemingly omnipotent mogul who puts profits ahead of animals welcome at his violation ridden theme-park.

The “Lagloom” documentary’s social mission is to bring change and awareness to the plight of animals and employees retained by Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, located about 18 miles north of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Despite numerous USDA violations and countless pleas from concerned citizens and animal rights activists alike, CEO David Freed refuses to engage in any sort of amicable dialogue to come to a resolution. Protests and petitions have rendered only local media buzz; the goal is to bring further awareness to not only this particular issue, but to the horrific proliferation of AG-GAG legislation and the underlying methodology of the Animal rights movement as a whole. It seeks to question mainstream and antiquated beliefs over human dominion of all animals and furthermore seeks to reframe our belief system by seeking equality for animals comparable to basic human rights.

About the film project: Lagloom has been largely self produced and for many years the creator/ film maker, Bernie Garcia is determined for this documentary to raise awareness to plight of animals in roadside zoos and in cages everywhere. The aim of using the medium of film is to precipitate inspired action and empty the cages.
